Vanessa Howard-Anderson

Vanessa attended Goucher College in Baltimore Maryland, where she earned her Double Major in Psychology and Sociology Graduating (Cum Laude). Vanessa competed on Goucher College’s IHSA Equestrian Team all 4 years of school in the Open Jumping and Open Flat Divisions winning numerous Blue ribbons for the team. Vanessa also participated in the ANRC National Championships each year.

After graduating from Goucher College in 2000, Vanessa joined Media Metrix, formally AdRelevance, a national advertising agency headquartered in Seattle WA. As an Account Manager she was responsible for East Coast Sales. Vanessa’s entrepreneurial spirit emerged during this same timeframe. She started her horse training business on a part time basis and soon discovered her true passion for horses and business. With the support of her family and soon to be husband Zach, Vanessa decided to leave the corporate world and start her own horse training business.

VLH Training LLC was formed in 2001 and was the beginning of her professional training career operating at her family’s equestrian facility in Redmond Washington. Vanessa created one of the premier Hunter/Jumper training programs in the PNW by combining horsemanship, riding skills, and personal growth. Vanessa had the opportunity to take multiple young horses from the Baby Green Hunters to the 2nd Year Green Working Hunters winning numerous Championships along the way. On many occasions she was given horses that had never jumped or needed extensive retraining and turned them into successful show jumping horses on the A Circuit for her customers. Vanessa had the opportunity to ride Opus One to the 6 Year Old Young Jumper Year End Zone 9 Championships.

Vanessa spent 12 plus years attending the clinics of Buck Brannaman and applying his techniques to all phases of developing the horse and rider. This culminated in the rescue of two horses that were left for dead and subsequently 100% rehabilitated.

After the birth of Vanessa’s 2nd child, she made the decision to pursue her advanced degree in Clinical Psychology and was accepted into the Antioch University Graduate Program in Clinical Psychology.

Vanessa, her husband Zach and their two daughters Skylar and Madison moved to Southern CA for a few years to enjoy the sunny weather. During this time in Del Mar CA...Vanessa developed the BeOne Training & Wellness program. She saw how combining the benefits of Breath-work, Energy work, Mindfulness, along with Classical Horsemanship and Equine Health & Wellness was beneficial for both horse and human. Eventually Vanessa realized she needed to be closer to her parents and decided it was time to relocate back to the PNW. Vanessa and Zach bought their own Equestrian farm just outside of Gig Harbor in the small township of Burley WA and named it Creekside Meadow Farms. This is the home of BeOne Training & Wellness.

Vanessa looks forward to sharing her knowledge and gifts with you!!
